We believe that marriage is -by definition- the union between a male and a female, and anything other is not, nor can it ever be, consistent with the historical, traditional or literal definition of marriage.

The term "civil union" coined by the Vermont Legislature is nothing other than an attempt to circumvent general public outcry against any attempt to redefine marriage.

Marriage is the most foundational building block to a peaceful and just society. Anything that strikes at the core of marriage also strikes at the core of an orderly society. Any attempt to redefine marriage moves us toward social disorder.

No society can long endure that will neglect the principles of Biblical order. Even societies that do not claim the Bible as the source of their moral foundation thrive only as long as they follow practices consistent with its precepts.
We must strive to remain one nation under God, or become many nations under human tyranny. The instrument which restrains us toward that end is the Bible. The Bible defines marriage as the union between one man and one woman, and lists homosexual activity, along with other human vices, as sin. We can do no less. Though we encourage love and acceptance for the persons who identify with homosexuality, we cannot condone their practices. We are not against anyone, or any group, for we all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory. We are simply striving to preserve the sanctity of marriage as defined by, instituted by, and overseen by God. Furthermore, any sexual practice outside of holy matrimony is equally sinful and ought not be encouraged by any form of public policy or law.

Remaining one nation under God means remaining under God’s immutable moral laws. We may struggle to find mutual agreement concerning the interpretation of his law, but in our struggle we must never violate those basic principles and institutions that have brought this nation liberty, prosperity and blessing.
