New York Christian Coalition is calling on churches in New York to join our SECOND SUNDAY campaign. “SECOND SUNDAY” is a new initiative to educate and motivate church members to be full participants in this ‘government of the people’ by gathering once a month, on a Sunday evening to worship, and to be informed about the issues that Christians consider vital to a healthy culture. They will learn about such things as the role of the Supreme Court, the fight to end legal abortion, and to preserve traditional marriage, as well as learning about local issues and meeting local legislators who will help them understand the political process and how they can be more active in Government. Though each local congregation will develop their own program, the New York Christian Coalition stands ready to provide resources and instruction whenever requested.
Part of the vision is to see congegations throughout our state, and even throughout our nation, coming together at the same time to pray, and to seek God’s wisdom concerning the preservation of the gift of liberty. We want to see our church members better informed and equipped so that they can become part of the governing process. After all, if we can get good people elected to office, hopefully, we’ll have less to worry about concerning bad laws.”Imagine congregations throughout the nation praying and learning together to “do” II Chronicles 7:14. Imagine the Church being educated and informed so that we may “possess the city gates” as admonished by Scripture.
It’s time we became “relevant.” Our churches should be making a difference in our communities, and the clergy should be leading the way. We can do it if we will be diligent about the Father’s business, and set aside one meeting each month for training and equipping to impact our sphere of influence for righteousness.
Will you join me? Let me know. If you have questions or need help getting it going. Call me. I want to be here to serve you as we all seek to serve Him. We will be developing resources to help this initiative, but let’s start now,
